The Beaver County United Way of Beaver County formally began the new campaign season with a breakfast that was attended by almost 200 supporters.
There were many highlights of the event which included commissioners Sandie Egley and Tony Amadio declaring the week of September 25th, United Way Week in Beaver County.
West Aircomm President and United Way Board member spoke about his over 20 year involvement with the local United Way and how it has been energized with the changes made by Executive Director, Mike Rubino. He emphasized how stream-lined the office has become with only 2 full-time and 2 part-time employees.
The main speaker was 13 year old Elizabeth Kyle whp spoke about her battle with Luekemia and how she was helped by the Beaver County Cancer/Heart Association, a United Way of Beaver County partner agency.
The final remarks were given by Mike Rubino. He announced the goal of $750,000. He asked the group to try to help a little more and to spread the mission of the Beaver County United Way to a friend or co-worker.
