The Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Beaver County, is responsible for managing the overall activities of the organization specific to the agency.  This position is a key role, reporting to the Board President, of the BBBS of Beaver County. Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives, vision and values of BBBS of Beaver County, the Director must ensure that the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems are in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

Job Description

In this position, the Executive Director can expect to be responsible for the following:

  • Fund Development – Pro-actively ensures that the organization develops strong long-term relationships with individual, foundation and corporate donors; supports and expands the current and future agency fundraising events.
  • Financial Management – Oversees the daily cash needs of the agency while controlling expenses; communicates the agency financial position to the board treasurer and executive committee on a regular and ongoing basis.
  • Programming – Expands the agency’s message in the community to attract, engage and mobilize volunteer mentors; ensures program excellence by establishing operational benchmarks while making child safety a priority.
  • Public Relations – Represents Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Beaver County at external events and with the media; positively influences partners, the media and public policies to generate volunteers and donors.
  • Management – Attracts, retains and develops agency staff; creates an environment where staff is engaged and performing at high levels; utilizes an effective performance management system for all employees that include annual goal setting and evaluation.
  • Board Development – Creates a strong Board of Directors willing and able to lead and contribute to the fund development success of the organization while assuring independent governance oversight and performance accountability of the Executive Director.

Job Requirements 

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or non-profit administration; Graduate level degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of proven results in building an organization and achieving results
