Thanks to a $2,500 matching grant from Giant Eagle and the generosity of local donors, the United Way of Beaver County has awarded a total of $5,000 to six nonprofit organizations working to provide meals and groceries to Beaver County residents in need.
The following programs each received funding to strengthen their efforts to feed individuals and families:
- The Center for Hope - Ambridge
- The Center Midland
- Central United Methodist Church - Beaver Falls
- Families Matter Food Pantry - Monaca
- The Little Free Food Truck / Manna / Healing Hunger Beaver County - Aliquippa
- The SOMA Gathering - Beaver Falls
"Food insecurity affects families in every corner of our county," said Mary Lou Harju, Executive Director of UWBC. "We're deeply grateful to Giant Eagle for making this matching grant available and to the community members whose contributions doubled its impact. These organizations, as well as many others in our county, work tirelessly to keep households from going hungry, and we're proud to stand with them in this vital effort."
UWBC's investment reflects its ongoing commitment to addressing urgent needs and supporting local partners that strengthen the community.
